Chip joined Volt Telecom Group in 2001 as Vice President of Global Infrastructure, bringing with him over 20 years of management experience within the telecommunications industry. His success in managing and streamlining operations led to his promotion to Vice President -- Western division, and subsequently to President when all operations were consolidated to provide central oversight and management.
As President of Volt Telecom Group, Chip oversees a premier global services organization that is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volt Information Sciences, Inc., our parent company (2006 revenue of $2.3 billion). Operations include the design, engineering, construction, installation and maintenance of all voice, data, video and utility infrastructure for both government and private sectors.
Chip’s career in telecommunications began as a technician in 1980 with Volt Telecom Group. He then accepted a position with GTE Telephone Operations, first as a technician and then as an engineer. In 1988, he moved to CONTEL Federal Systems to manage a communications infrastructure build-out project for the US Air Force, and spent the next 13 years overseeing various projects at over 100 military installations. During his tenure at CONTEL Federal Systems (which became GTE Government Systems and then General Dynamics), his responsibilities included Program Manager, Director and Vice President of Network Infrastructure. |
